hello world!

it's Kip here! i've always wanted to try writing a blog, so i thought that this was a good time!

i just started college and things are going well! so well in fact, that i've started a new minecraft server! i've made a few friends in my science classes who all like minecraft, so we decided we'd start a server together! i know what they say about how college freshmen friend groups are "doomed to fail" but i have a good feeling about these guys. they don't want their real names shared on this blog so i'll tell you their usernames! so far we've got

we played for a while on our first day; none of us had any classes. (Sun tells me I use semicolons too much, i'm sorry i like it!! i'm not even sure if i use it right lol.) Toaster was a big lumberjack kinda guy, left all the mining to us and had like, a chest full of stacks of wood when we came back. he even got spruce! genuinely no idea where he got so much from since we're in a plains/birch forest which seems to go on forever, i'll have to ask him at some point.

anyway, the three of us went mining for hours. i'm honestly shocked none of us died, although there were a few run ins with creepers! our goal was to get the essentials: tons of iron and coal, but we ended up finding a few diamonds too! we let Potemkin have them since he's new to minecraft and reeaaallllyyy needs them! it's funny, for a computer science major he's pretty pitiful at computer games. "more of a COD fan" he says, but come on it's not that hard.

anyway, with the spruce Toaster got us i decided to make a starter house! our spawn is right next to a big ravine and river so i put it right on the edge of both! there's a quaint little dock which gives you a good look at said ravine, and for someone who isn't the best at building i think it's pretty good!

we've all decided we're going to keep all our houses pretty close to each other and stick near spawn, so i won't have to leave my house too fast. Sun is really good at building, so instead of whipping together something like i did he's actually gathering materials to make a pretty kick ass house! he says he needs brick and barrels and i'm like, for a starter house?? his mind is set on it though so i won't stop him. he also joked about making a lumberjack shack for Toaster and i think he'd like that a lot. they've got some tests coming up so i'll be just gathering resources alone for a while, but i'm so glad we have a world together.
